Welcome back, Stephanie McMahon.
Goodbye, Stephanie McMahon.
One night after Ronda Rousey captured her first WWE title, the new Raw women’s champion was welcomed on Monday night by a returning McMahon. With grand plans in mind McMahon rolled out the red carpet and brought out the entire women’s locker room to watch Rousey get handed her new title.
As McMahon hyped up Rousey’s big moment at SummerSlam, she also made sure to take plenty of credit for the accomplishments of the former UFC fighter turned pro wrestling rookie.
McMahon even dubbed Rousey her protege.

After McMahon played a cheesy video package with media headlines touting Rosuey’s win over Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam, Rousey made her way down to the ring. As the entire Raw women’s roster looked on, Rousey tried to downplay McMahon’s words and didn’t want any of her co-workers to feel less than.
Rousey even pointed to Natalya’s long run in the women’s division as well as Sasha Banks vs. Bayley classic match at NXT TakeOver three years ago to reasons why everyone should feel proud tonight.
The entire ceremony felt forced and too over top in the way it celebrated Rousey’s first title win.
Before segment could go further off the tracks, Rousey got physical with McMahon.
