Becky Lynch makes the case for WWE women’s tag team titles

Just think of all the great puns Becky Lynch could make if she had a full time tag team partner.

With WWE’s all women’s Evolution pay-per-view set for Sun., Oct. 28, 2018, the promotion may be going all in (pun intended) on stacking the card with meaningful matches. The long rumored debut of the company’s women’s tag team titles could still find a home somewhere on the Evolution marquee.

Speaking with the The Wrestling Compadres Slamcast at San Diego Comic Con last month, Lynch had some interesting thoughts about the long talked about women’s tag team division. According to Lynch the women on the main roaster have been pushing for additional titles for a while now.

“Oh yes, absolutely. I am constantly thinking about it and brainstorming and pitching for it. Even if I am involved or not, I just think that it would be a wonderful step in the women’s progression. When I say involved in it, I mean I’m going after the women’s championship right now and that is where I want to be, but in the future I would love to see it.

Lynch continued

”Especially ,we have all these women in the Mae Young Classic and have so many girls. We still have a shallow side, not shallow,as in there are a few women on either side of Raw and SmackDown. What do we have have like eight to ten on either side? So that is kind of tricky to do a tag title and women’s title, but if we can combine and we’re able to go through all these different things and it connects, I don’t know if that’s going to be possible.”

Later in the interview Lynch even dropped the name of who she would want to partner with and the name of their tag team. Well maybe not after Tuesday night but teaming with Charlotte Flair to form Tea-Generation X would be worth it just for the breakup feud.

Will the first WWE women’s tag team titles debut at Evolution in October?
