For the first time since 2012, a wrestler with the Money in the Bank contract put it on the line after winning it in the ladder match. But to win the briefcase, Kevin Owens would have to beat a Monster... among Men.
Braun Strowman never forgave KO for plotting against him at Money in the Bank, and he’s made it his mission in life to make Owens’ life miserable since. That led to SummerSlam on Sun., Aug. 19, where if Strowman lost - in any way, shape or form - the Prizefighter would be able to book himself a Universal Championship match whenever he wanted.
It seemed that would help KO, because while he’s been monster-handled by Strowman non-stop for weeks, he (and Jinder Mahal) have been able to pick up wins against Braun.
It didn’t, at least not at first...

It didn’t get better after that, either. Strowman bounced Owens off the steel ramp...
Pardon me, but OW.
