When you go I will know, follow you to the stars, and when the world burns apart there’ll be a place for your car. I’d give you everything, if only I’d have known you’d take it, but for right now, I’ll just give you a liveblog for this here pro wrestling show, folks.

The pre-show kicks off with Renee Young welcoming us to the show and introducing her pre-show panel, tonight comprised of Booker T, Sam Roberts, and David Otunga. They run through the card match by match in short to shill for the WWE Network before tossing to John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Peter Rosenberg reporting from the entryway, where they recap Dean Ambrose’s return from Monday.

Video package and panel discussion of the SmackDown Women’s Championship match follows. New Day get a promo backstage talking about how special Brooklyn is to them, being where their record-setting title reign began, Francesca was born, and a Slip ‘n Slide incident that the others don’t want Big E to talk about happened. We go backstage with Rusev Day getting ready for their match when Aiden English rolls up saying he has the perfect song for them tonight.

Rusev tells him no, tonight is about them, so he’s staying behind.

Breaking at the count, following with a standing armbar but the Bulgarian Brute hosses himself back to his feet and throws open-hand strikes to try and break. Andrade stays on him, choking him over the ropes, and when Zelina gets a cheap shot in Rusev steels himself and goes for the tag.

Vega pulls Lana off the apron, Almas with a running knee in the corner, inverted tornado DDT... NOPE! Back to the armbar, Rusev tries a suplex to escape but Cien floats over, back to the inverted tornado DDT but the Bulgarian Lion shrugs him off and knocks him to the floor! Charly Caruso runs into Paul Heyman backstage and interviews him about the state of his relationship with Brock Lesnar but he begs off like he can’t follow her question and doubles down on his narrative about Brock getting rid of Roman Reigns tonight.

Panel discussion of the match follows. We go backstage with Kurt Angle, Paige, and DRAKE MAVERICK talking general manager business. They put each other’s talent and matchups over until Constable Baron Corbin rolls up talking about how he’s hoping Angle is on top of everything tonight because he doesn’t want to get a call from Stephanie McMahon. Back to the lockup, this time Gulak gets him in the corner and breaks with a shot to the breadbasket.

Frankensteiner denied, Gu-Lock on but Alexander’s able to panic out of it and hit a dropkick! To the floor, Cedric with a huge palm strike, chops, back in, big forearm, but Drew cuts him off with a front kick on the springboard! Headed around the floor, reverse chinlock neckbreaker over the knee off the apron! Smashing him into the apron, taking the champion back inside, applying a neck crank to work him over!

Alexander fights to his feet, right hand, Drew catches a second... TRUE URANAGE ONLY GETS TWO! Back to the panel, they toss to JBL and Rosenberg for some more discussion of the SmackDown Women’s Match before moving onto a video package and panel discussion of the WWE Championship match. Samoa Joe is interviewed by satellite, saying he’s in full control over every action he makes, he’s not wracked by guilt like AJ Styles is, and he has Styles just where he wants him.

Every word he’s said has rung true, otherwise why would AJ be upset? All he does is spit the truth. He says he’s in AJ’s head and he’s gonna take advantage of him acting like a victim tonight. He questions whether Styles actually does all this for his family again, and every time AJ brings his explosiveness into the ring with him, he’s blunted it and put him out, and he’s taken titles from him everywhere they’ve been. Tonight will be no different.

He tells AJ that he has a unique opportunity to let him correct his issues in life by handing him the title, and one way or the other the best advice he can give him tonight is to have a pillow ready, because he’s going to put him to sleep.
