Dolph Ziggler indicates we’ll know more about his WWE contract status after SummerSlam

In February, a report came out saying Dolph Ziggler had re-signed with WWE. One version of the story even had it that The Show-Off basically agreed to be “jobber to the stars” for his new pay day. Ziggler shot those rumors down and has since gone on his most high profile run in years, winning the Intercontinental Championship with Drew McIntyre as his back-up.

So what is up with Dolph’s contract situation?

PWInsider caught up with him at a pre-SummerSlam Be A S.T.A.R. rally in the Bronx yesterday (Aug. 17) and he told them. Kind of.

“I feel like you’ll have to see Sunday or Monday but I’ve also heard that [his deal was coming up.] I’ve also heard about several different contracts that I signed but I didn’t sign.

I’ve been doing some great work and looking forward to doing what I do and Sunday or Monday, we’ll see what direction we’re heading in afterwards.”

Ziggler’s been with the company since 2004, and is no stranger to contract drama. A similar did he or didn’t he sign went on in June of 2015 when he reportedly inked a multi-year deal.

Would a title loss while WWE is in Brooklyn this weekend mean he isn’t coming back, finally heading off to pursue his acting, comedy and political commentary dreams? If he leaves New York City with the belt, would that mean he’s sticking around for a few more years?

The drama!
