JBL slid into Renee Young’s DMs to tell her to stay off social media after Raw commentary announcement

WWE had Cathy Kelley catch up to Renee Young after it was announced she would fill in for Jonathan Coachman on commentary for Monday Night Raw next week. They get her reaction as well as word of an old friend giving her some advice.

That old friend was JBL, sliding up in her DM’s ... to tell her to stay off social media:

“JBL slid into my DM’s, which was really nice. He actually had some really great words of encouragement and some advice. Mostly to not look on social media, which is very helpful. ... But, yeah, it’s really cool to of course get some recognition from your peers and the people that you work with and the people that you look up to. I’m sure that you can resonate with this too, it’s like trying to be a part of this whole women’s evolution. For me to be able to knock this off means a lot to me, to be able to open the doors for hopefully more women, to be able to get this ball rolling and get our voices out there and have us finally be heard.”

How any famous person reads their mentions is beyond me, considering the level of discourse on social media platforms like Twitter. This is good advice indeed. His method of delivery just makes it funny.
