With Aleister Black not recovered enough from surgery for a groin injury, WWE had a write an angle to explain pulling him from the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 main event, where he had previously been scheduled to wrestle in a triple threat match for the NXT championship against both the current titleholder, Tommaso Ciampa, and Johnny Gargano. So they ran the old reliable parking lot attack angle.
As Hideo Itami would tell you, the Full Sail parking lot is unsafe.
We never did find Itami’s attacker, however, so it’s fair to wonder if WWE will bother explaining who took Black out. They’re going all out for it so far, with the above video the latest, an investigation into all the suspects who could have been responsible.
It could have been anyone!
It’s easy to point your finger at Ciampa, and also not that much of a stretch to think Gargano, but Lars Sullivan was also on the scene. Hell, Shayna Baszler was there and would it shock you to find out she took someone out in a parking lot? It sure wouldn’t!
We’ll just have to stay tuned.
But it was definitely Ricochet. Or surely Sullivan. Or maybe Candice LeRae.
