“I think going out there this year I’ve kind of reminded everybody of how good I can be. Maybe some people didn’t believe in me after the injury to my knee and what my recovery was going to be like, but, for me, I feel like I’m 100-percent. I feel like mentally I’m on another level, better than I’ve ever been. I just see things in slow motion almost sometimes when I’m out there. It’s like this vision, and I’ve always had it but it’s really honed in this past year.”
That’s from the above video, a documentary style look at Seth Rollins leading up to his Iron Man match against Dolph Ziggler at Extreme Rules. What stands out about it is how Rollins believes he’s as good as he’s ever been, that he’s finally fully recovered from his injury and is just now getting around to showing the world that he’s one of the greatest of all time.
That is his goal, too. He wants to be one of the best ever, and not just in his own mind but recognized for as much by others.
It’s hard to argue with him that 2018 has been the year of Rollins in WWE. No one is having matches as consistently good as he is — even if the Iron Man ended up being something of a disappointment.
There are still five months for him to outdo himself but we could be voting him “Wrestler of the Year,” at least within WWE, come December.
Right?
