Well look who is taking an interest in the world of pro wrestling all of sudden.
In the latest UFC to WWE crossover, former Brock Lesnar opponent Cain Velasquez stopped by the WWE Performance Center in Orlando this week. First reported and promoted by WWE.com, Velasquez seemed enthusiastic about learning the ropes.
“Two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez stepped inside the ring to learn techniques under WWE PC coach Norman Smiley and participated in a session of DDP Yoga led by WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page. Velasquez also worked out in the WWE PC’s weight room and attended last night’s NXT tapings at Full Sail Live”
Velasquez added
“My experience here has been amazing,” he said. “I’m just looking forward to being here and learning as much as I can. I’ve been a fan of the sport since I was a little kid, and now I get to participate in it.”
This is not the first time Velasquez has teased his interest in pro wrestling.

Back in Oct. 2010, Velasquez would win his first UFC heavyweight title when he defeated Lesnar by first round TKO at UFC 121.
When mixed martial arts fans last saw the 35-year-old Velasquez it was on the undercard of UFC 200, where he TKO’d Ronda Rousey’s husband Travis Browne in the first round. On that night in Jul. 2016, Brock Lesnar and Daniel Cormier also won separate MMA fights.
Velasquez is a longtime teammate of Cormier at American Kickboxing Academy.
Is this just a pit stop on Cain Velasquez’s return back to the UFC cage? Or is the former two-time UFC champion looking to follow in the footsteps of Ronda Rousey and make a run at a future pro wrestling career?
