It’s been a rough few weeks for WWE’s Tuesday night television numbers, but with the U.S. holiday behind them, the blue brand shot all the way back up to the lofty heights of... let’s see - early June.
Yep, the summertime TV blues are still in effect - but relative to the competition and the last couple weeks, it’s not that bad. SmackDown drew an audience of 2,183,000 on July 10, up 170K from the new 2018 low it delivered a week earlier. That was good for the sixth biggest audience among cable originals on the night, behind the usual political talk shows on Fox News and MSNBC.
As far as rating goes, that ticked back up to the highest it’s been since May. It rose to a .68 among 18 - 49 year olds.
We’ll see if Extreme Rules fallout and the start of the road to SummerSlam continues this upward trend next Tuesday. Until then, here’s a list of SmackDown’s numbers over the past six months:
