WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JULY 10

Don’t remember where I was, I realized life was a game. The more seriously I took things, the harder the rules became. I had no idea what it’d cost, my life passed before my eyes. When I found out how little I accomplished, all my plans denied, except for my plan to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks!

The show opens with commentary hyping up some of our matches tonight.

Live in the ring, Miz is ready to welcome us to MizTV.

He hypes up the premier of Miz & Mrs. before moving onto the reunion of his guests tonight, Team Hell No. They make their entrance and Miz wants to address the elephant in the room, his victory over Daniel Bryan in the gauntlet match a few weeks ago, and he has no inclination of starting anything and wants to be extended the same courtesy.

Bryan says if he’s asking if he’s gonna get punched in the face, the answer is... Kane talks him down... is that he’ll be professional. Miz says their history is impressive, they broke box office records and were tag team champions and he never thought he’d see the day, comparing it to Justin Timberlake hypothetically reuniting with N’Sync.

He asks if they’re ready to face the Bludgeon Brothers and Kane insists N’Sync will never get back together again before saying they’re well aware of what the Bludgeons can do, but they’re not Team Hell No. Miz says if any team can handle the champions, it’s them, and he rolls a highlight reel of their history and Kane’s actions shortly before Bryan’s retirement.

The A-Lister apologizes, saying that’s not the footage he wanted to show, but since we saw it anyway he wants to talk about it. Dan cuts him off and tells him to stop it, that he sees what he’s trying to do but it’s not working, because he’s the Miz and he’s terrible at everything. And the only thing he’s worse at than stirring the pot is wrestling.

Miz gets real serious and says he’s smarter than this, he knows Team Hell No are going to implode and Kane’s gonna betray Bryan like he always does. Ever since Dan came back all Miz can think about is being the man to end his career for good, but instead Bryan hides behind this cheesy nostalgia act because he knows he can’t hang with him in the ring.

Kane tries to calm Bryan down with some breathing exercises, and the A-Lister tells him to go ahead and hide behind his demon one more time. This gets Kane to goozle him, but he lets go when the the Bludgeon Brothers come out. Before they can make it to the ring, though...

Enter SAnitY! They’re in the ring putting boots to Team Hell No! The Bludgeons take Kane out as SAnitY attack Daniel Bryan! NEW DAY MAKE THE SAVE! Double leg into mounted punches on Alexander Wolfe from Xavier Woods! Big E choking Killian Dain in the corner! Bryan recovers and Dain wipes him out! Eric Young hits the wheelbarrow neckbreaker on Woods!

Five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce and Fit Finlay come to ringside with referees to try and break it up!

Commentary hypes up Asuka vs. James Ellsworth II and we cut backstage to Shinsuke Nakamura walking along wearing a set of Jeff Hardy style arm sleeves, taking them off as he makes his way through the arena to send us to break.

Back from commercial we’re informed that the opening brawl has been made into a ten-man tag team match for later tonight.

Rusev makes his entrance right before AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura begins and gets on the mic and tells him he might want to lock himself in the bathroom on the in basement, but it won’t matter because he’s coming to destroy the House That AJ Styles Built and claim his first-ever WWE Championship on the greatest day of them all, Rusev Day.

AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Nakamura in with a kick, off the ropes, leapfrog, drop down, dropkick from the champ and Shinsuke rolls to the floor to send us to break.

Back from commercial, the King of Strong Style is in control, throwing knees on Styles in the corner. AJ gets a kick off in return, whip to the corner, up and over to the apron, forearm smash, springboard and Nakamura shoves him to the floor! Drawing Styles up, throwing him into the barricade and then back into the ring, a cover gets one and he follows it up by grabbing a sort of modified cobra clutch.

Shaking it in, AJ reaching, grasping, he posts to his feet and breaks with elbows. Trading shots, axe kick from Shinsuke, following it up with a gourdbuster, he’s fired up but Styles sidesteps the Kinshasa and gets a nearfall off a schoolboy! Enzuigiri, to the corner, Nakamura gets a boot up and sets him up top for the corner knee lift! Body slam gets two, disdainful kicks, leg-feed enzuigiri gets him another two and we go to break.

Back from commercial, AJ is throwing chops and ducking kicks. Styles Rush, Nakamura’s down and out, leaping lariat in the corner sets up the Ushigoroshi but Shinsuke slips away and asks for more! Sleeper hold, countered into Ushigoroshi, the Bull Killer... NOPE! Thinking about the Styles Clash,, Nakamura kicks him in the face and reverses to a triangle but AJ deadlifts him up to counter!

Shinsuke reasserts the hold, Styles reverses into a pin for two! Inverted exploder denied, now it’s AJ that wants some more and he passes Nakamura through the ropes to the floor... plancha forearm! Styles lays Aiden English out for good measure but Shinsuke clobbers him, charges over... ENGLISH EATS KINSHASA, TOO! AJ puts Nakamura into the post, back inside, up on the apron... AND RUSEV YANKS HIM DOWN!

AJ Styles wins by disqualification.

Rusev presses the attack, holding AJ up for Shinsuke... BUT JEFF HARDY MAKES THE SAVE! The Charismatic Enigma fights them off two-on-one, coming off the ropes with a double dropkick before he can be overwhelmed! A baseball slide takes both guys out and here comes Paige!

She says since AJ and Jeff are defending their titles against these men this Sunday she wants to make it into a tag team match tonight!

The match itself will have to wait for after the break, however.

AJ Styles & Jeff Hardy vs. Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura

Rusev and Styles are feeling it out, the Bulgarian Lion catches a kick and levels him with a lariat that’s good for a one-count. Putting boots to him, arm wringer, right hand, more stomps, and into the bear hug! I can hardly bear it! AJ slips out and gets bodyslammed for his trouble, straight suplex, and back to the bear hug! Styles pries his way out with elbows and right hands but Rusev cuts him off.

Float over the suplex, sleeper hold applied, trying to walk Rusev into his corner but he gets rammed into a neutral one! Diving away from a charge, the Bulgarian Lion takes the post hard and AJ gets the tag! Hardy in with right hands, whip reversed, Manhattan Drop to the double leg drop and the basement dropkick, big splash gets two! DELETE hands, kick to the gut, Twist of Fate denied, elbow up in the corner... WHISPER IN THE WIND BUT NAKAMURA BREAKS IT UP!

Styles runs Shinsuke off, Penalty Kick off the apron, Machka Kick takes him out in turn, Hardy sidesteps one, Twist of Fate! Headed up top but Nakamura crotches him! Rusev charges in...

Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura win by pinfall with a Machka Kick from Rusev on Jeff Hardy.

Commentary hypes up the card for Extreme Rules and the rest of tonight’s festivities.

We cut backstage to see James Ellsworth doing push-ups and sit-ups when Carmella rolls up and tells him to get up and that he better take care of Asuka tonight. Jimmy’s all confident and she threatens to beat him worse than she’s gonna beat Asuka if he ever winks at her again.

The women of SmackDown make their entrances to be lumberjacks for Asuka vs. James Ellsworth, and we go to break.

Back from commercial in time for the last entrances for the match, starting with Carmella, who will be a lumberjack.

James Ellsworth cuts a promo before Asuka makes her entrance and takes his shirt off, saying he knows it must be tempting but he wants the women to show some restraint and not try to kiss him. None of them are ready for Asuka, but he is.

Asuka vs. James Ellsworth (Lumberjack Match)

Ellsworth ducks a lockup and then the backfist, heading to the floor and getting shoved back in. He begs referee Jason Ayers to back Asuka off and ducks a roundhouse before heading to the apron. He thinks better of leaving again and Asuka pastes him before knocking him down with the running hip attack! Half the division throws him back inside, another hip attack, palm strikes, hip toss into the knee lift, off the ropes for the sliding knee!

Again Jimmy bails and gets caught, only this time the lumberjacks end up fighting among themselves as he runs off up the ramp. Becky Lynch and Naomi break away and drag him bodily back to the ring! Asuka perches up top and takes the whole pile out with a plancha! Carmella calls Ellsworth over and gives him some kind of spray but Asuka takes him out with a rolling solebutt before he can use it!

A front kick knocks him into Carmella, she takes him down...

Asuka wins by submission with the Asuka Lock.

Mella gets in the ring and Asuka throws palm strikes before finishing with the backfist! She goes back over to Jimmy and gets a face full of spray, whereupon Carmella lays her out with a superkick and holds her title high.

We get a recap of our opening segment to fill folks who are coming in late in about our main event.

We go backstage with New Day and Team Hell No who are strategizing on how to beat their opponents. Bryan wants to chop them down like trees and take their knees out, but Kane wants to drag them to hell. Dan is skeptical about summoning Satan and New Day try to play peacemaker, which leads to Bryan complaining about Kane stopping him from punching Miz, which leads into a big “YES!” / “NO!” until Big E yells at them.

He asks Woods to create a strategy, Kofi Kingston to run circles around them, Bryan to dig deep and become the Goatface Killer, and asks Kane simply to be with them. Kane gives them his word that they’ll win and they’re all fired up until they realize he was quoting N’Sync lyrics.

On that note, we go to break.

Back from commercial, Carmella and James Ellsworth are walking along when they run into Paige.

Jimmy claims that his stock with women is higher than WWE’s and offers her a kiss, which she politely declines and says Ellsworth is gonna be locked in a shark cage above the ring during Carmella’s match on Sunday!

Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Sin Cara

Almas with a shove, a back elbow, overhand chop in the ropes, whip into a tilt-a-whirl but Cara turns it into an arm drag! Headscissors takeover sends Cien to the floor and Sin dives on him! Back inside, waistlock, standing switch, to the corner, Cara out, hung in the ropes, inverted DDT and an inverted headlock elbow drop and we go to break.

Back from commercial, trading chops, Almas shoves him, off the ropes, springboard crossbody, a quebrada, Sin is rolling! Back body drop countered into a twisting Poison Frankensteiner! NOT ENOUGH! Suplex, Andrade floats over, rolling back elbow, hammerlock DDT countered into a small package for two! Almas pastes Cara, charges in, back body drop to the floor!

Slingshot Frankensteiner to the floor! Up top, diving splash... THE KNEES ARE UP! Cien up top, he gets crotched, Sin with right hands, he gets hung up... TREE OF WOE DOUBLE STOMP ONTO THE APRON! Corner knees connect... IT’S OVER!

Andrade “Cien” Almas wins by pinfall with the running corner knees.

Commentary hypes up the Extreme Rules card one more time and shill for the WWE Network.

We go backstage with SAnitY, where they say they’re here to break the status quo, turn happiness into havoc, and not here for the nostalgia. New Day and Team Hell No’s time in the sun is over, and the only thing left is pure, unadulterated chaos. The camera pans to reveal Bludgeon Brothers, who want the bludgeoning to begin.

The match, whether with bludgeoning or not, will be after the break.

Back from commercial we get some hype for Cedric Alexander vs. Hideo Itami tonight on 205 Live.

Bludgeon Brothers (Erick Rowan & Luke Harper) & SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe, Eric Young, & Killian Dain) vs. New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, & Xavier Woods) & Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan & Kane)

We’ve got an all-out brawl to start! The babyface team clear the ring and stand tall to send us to break!

Back from commercial, Woods snapmares Wolfe and tags Kingston in. Kick, lariat, trust fall senton, diving elbow, tag to E, he comes off the ropes for the big splash! Alexander rolls to the corner but Big drags him back and tags Xavier in. Drawing him up, Wolfe throws body blows, whip to the corner, boot up on the charge and Woods makes a cover for two. Smashing the SAnitY man into the corner, diving axehandle on Young but Alexander lands a German suplex on him before he can take Dain out!

Rowan tags in, pumphandle backbreaker, body slam, elbow drop and Harper tags in with a slingshot senton atomico for a cover. Gator roll, reverse chinlock applied but Xavier fights to his feet. Slam, Killian tags in, overhead elbow into a neck crank, Woods gets up, back elbow, caught by the front fireman’s carry slam and then a senton as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Erick has the two-fisted head vise in on Woods! He fights to his feet, counters with a Stunner but gets run over with a back elbow. Whip to the corner, tag to Harper, big slap, whip-assisted body avalanches into the Michinoku Driver but the rest of New Day break it up and the match breaks down, Xavier with a gamengiri and a tornado DDT, EY and Bryan tag in!

Clear the apron, right hands for Eric give way to chest kicks in the corner, whip reversed, backflip up and over, duck a lariat, flying lariat of his own and the corner dropkick clears the apron again! Running corner dropkick for EY, setting him up top... AVALANCHE FRANKENSTEINER! Yes! Kicks follow, duck the buzzsaw, schoolboy, reversed into the Yes! Lock but Wolfe breaks it up!

Kane with a chokeslam on the German, Erick runs him over, Woods with a dropkick but Luke hits him with the Truck Stop! Trouble in Paradise from Kingston, E is fired up, and helps Kofi dive on Harper! Big surveys the carnage as Dain hits a freight train crossbody on Kingston and now the HOSSES ARE AT IT... SUICIDE SPEAR TAKES KILLIAN OUT!

The American Dragon’s fired up...

New Day & Team Hell No win by pinfall with the Busaiku Knee from Daniel Bryan on Eric Young.

Team Hell No celebrate and bicker amiably over their signature taunts on the ramp, Bryan trying and failing to call the fire at first until he manages to do it on the third try!

Well, he is the American DRAGON, after all.

That’s the show, folks.
