Report: WWE targeting WrestleMania rematch for title match at SummerSlam

WWE.com

Anybody want to start a ‘fight forever’ chant? The last time we saw WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar it was April and he was getting speared through a cage door by Roman Reigns. It’s now June and the WWE may give us another chapter in the Lesnar-Reigns feud in August.

Excited?

A new report suggests that the WWE is once again targeting a possible Lesnar vs. Reigns rematch for SummerSlam. According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required and encouraged), the WWE may be already prepping fans for the possible Universal title match.

“In commentary, they were heavily pushing the idea that Reigns deserves a title shot because of what happened at the Greatest Royal Rumble. Currently, that is the idea for SummerSlam, but as noted last week, at least as of a few days ago, it was not 100 percent confirmed, but was the working idea that Lesnar returns for SummerSlam and Reigns as of right now is the opponent.”

A lot can change over the next two months, including the result of the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match in 10 days, but as of right now Roman Reigns getting another crack at Brock Lesnar may be what the WWE wants.

If not Reigns, who else could Lesnar return to feud with over the biggest title in the WWE? Finn Balor and his never used rematch clause? Braun Strowman doing Monster stuff? Or Seth Rollins riding his IC title hot streak to the top of the card?

The WWE has plenty of options for SummerSlam but which one will they pick?
