Just one week after losing the Intercontinental championship to Dolph Ziggler, Seth Rollins got his rematch in the main event of this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in San Diego. Ziggler cut an unfocused, all over the place promo beforehand and the crowd was hot for Rollins to burn it down.
He did not burn it down.
At least in the sense that he didn’t win.
They absolutely tore the house down.
The first half of the match was focused on the interference of Drew McIntyre, who was ringside. Once he got involved a time too many the referee sent him to the back, leaving Ziggler and Rollins to settle up straight up.
They had one hell of a back-and-forth from there, with a few near falls that had the crowd at a fever pitch. After a close call following the Zig Zag, they broke out into a “YES” chant.
It was that fun.
In the end, McIntyre ran back out and pulled the referee out of the ring before he could count Ziggler’s shoulders to the mat. That meant, then, that Rollins won via disqualification but Dolph keeps the Intercontinental title.
The boos were very loud.
After, when the bad guys were about to put the boots to Rollins, Roman Reigns made his way out to make the save.
