WWE UK Championship Tournament spoilers from June 19: New champs, star returns from injury

WWE.com

With an announcement of a new brand name (NXT UK) and a regular show (airing... somewhere), WWE brought back the United Kingdom Championship Tournament (UKCT) this week. The two days at London’s Royal Albert Hall won’t air until next week, June 25 - 26, on WWE Network, but seeing as the action started Monday (spoilers for that show are here) and wrapped up yesterday (June 19), we’ve got full results from a show which set up featured a bevy of championship action below

Here’s what went down on a surpisingly eventful day two:

  • El Ligero def. Wild Boar
  • Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven) def. Undisputed ERA (Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly) to become the NEW NXT Tag Team Champions
  • Charlie Morgan def. Killer Kelly via pinfall when she reversed suplex into a roll-up
  • A Triple Threat #1 contender match was set to start, but NXT UK General Manager Johnny Saint came out to make it a Fatal 4Way, adding a returning 205 Live Superstar to the mix...
  • Noam Dar def. Travis Banks, Flash Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews (pinned Andrews after following a leg lariat after Andrews hit Banks with Stundog Millionaire but missed a shooting star press) to become #1 contender to the United Kingdom Championship
  • Adam Cole def. Wolfgang via pinfall following Last Shot to retain the North American Title
  • Ricochet and Aleister Black def. EC3 and Velveteen Dream via pinfall (Black on EC3 after Black Mass); story was that the heels couldn’t get along, with Dream eventually walking out on EC3
  • Shayna Baszler def. Toni Storm via countout to retain the NXT Women’s Championship; evenly fought match where Baszler choked Storm on the floor before beating the ref’s count, then locked in the Kirifuda Clutch again after the match
  • Pete Dunne def. Zack Gibson via pinfall following Bitter End to retain the UK Title
  • Triple H closed the show telling the London crowd was this was the next chapter in UK wrestling , and did the “We Are NXT” deal.

There you have it, folks

Sound like something you’ll pull up on the Network when it streams on Tuesday, June 26 at 3PM Eastern?
