WWE releases Big Cass

In a brief statement, WWE announced earlier today (June 19) that Big Cass has been let go from the roster:

“WWE has come to terms on the release of William Morrissey (Big Cass).”

Cass finished a feud with Daniel Bryan on Sun., June 17 at Money in the Bank. That was his first major program since returning from injury, and included rumors of backstage heat for not adhering to the script in one segment, a reportedly worked injury, a brief one-sided match at Backlash and a follow-up embarrassment. His more competitive showing at the latest pay-per-view (PPV) was seen by many as a sign his time in the proverbial dog house might be ending. Now this.

The seven footer was most famous for his tag team with Enzo Amore, who was released after numerous controversies in Jan. of 2018.

More as we have it.
