AJ Styles is officially the WWE 2K19 cover boy

Word was this was happening, and now it has...

AJ says joining The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin and other legends as a WWE game cover Superstar is bucket list stuff:

“As a hardcore gamer and ambassador of everything it means to ‘Never Say Never’ in both my professional and personal life, it is a dream come true to be selected as the WWE 2K19 cover Superstar.”

And it’s not only phenomenal for the WWE Champ. There are a million and one reasons why it’s going to be phenomenal for a fan, too.

At the press conference unveiling the cover, Styles introduced 2K’s “Million Dollar Challenge”. Players who beat a yet-to-be revealed game mode and send in a video showing them beating AJ in the game will be eligible to enter a four person tournament, with the winner going head-to-head with the real AJ for $1 million.

Full rules are here.

Pre-order info is due later today, and we’ll update when we have that. In the meantime, the scheduled worldwide release was confirmed as Oct. 9, 2018. And while details are spares, 2K did announce two “premium” editions:

- The WWE 2K19 Deluxe Edition, which contains a copy of the game with special packaging and access to Season Pass, Pre-Order and Collector’s Edition digital content.

- The WWE 2K19 Collector’s Edition, which contains the same features as the Deluxe Edition plus exclusive and rare collectibles, as well as limited-edition WWE SuperCard content.

Will Ronda Rousey be the pre-order bonus, as was also reported last week by Pro Wrestling Sheet?

Stay tuned!
