It’s just about time:

In her first singles match in WWE, Ronda Rousey will challenge Nia Jax for the Raw women’s championship at tonight’s (Sun., June 17, 2018) Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) at the Allstate Arena just outside Chicago, Illinois. After her performance at WrestleMania 34, and her being a star of this magnitude, this is almost certainly the right call.
Why wait?
They sacrificed Jax’s character a bit for the story, sadly. After fending off her own bully in Alexa Bliss, Nia became one herself while antagonizing Rousey. They’ve since tried to walk that back a bit but the interest was never really in how Nia approaches this, the interest is in whether or not Rousey can have a good match with her, and if WWE will pull the trigger on putting the belt on the former UFC champion less than a month before she’s scheduled to go into the UFC Hall of Fame.
We’ll get to find out soon enough.
