The WWE continues to heavily promote The New Day vs. The Elite feud

What a time to be alive. There are a few things, as a longtime pro wrestling fan, that can get someone to giggle like a complete newb but seeing a feud between The New Day and The Elite build across social media is one of those things.

This is awesome.

Last week, Xavier Woods and Kenny Omega officially booked themselves in a Street Fighter V showdown this Thursday (Jun. 14) at E3. Then the pro wrestlers swerved us and announced it would be a team battle instead an one on one contest. Woods quickly picked Kofi Kingston and Big E for his squad, but who would Omega turn to?

In his time of need, Omega turned to Matt and Nick Jackson to join him versus The New Day. The Young Bucks accepted and here we are.

Spotting promotional gold, the WWE has even thrown some of their marketing muscle behind The New Day vs. The Elite brewing rivalry.

The excerpt from WWE.com reads like some fan-fic for longtime fans of both stables.

“What will happen when these trios meet for what is sure to be an explosive video game battle? Will Omega, the self-proclaimed “Best Bout Machine,” unleash the V-Trigger on his way to a six-star Street Fighter classic before saying goodbye and goodnight to his rivals? Will The Young Bucks make Ken and Ryu put on a virtual superkick party?”

Woods even took to Instagram to add more fuel to the fire in one of his better promos we’ve seen from him.

Now the WWE even has Cathy Kelley breaking it all down on the WWE’s 27 million subscriber YouTube channel.

Pro wrestling (video games) can be pretty fun.
