Asuka chokes out Carmella to win 10 woman tag match main event

In what was billed as the largest women’s tag match in SmackDown history. tonight’s (Jun. 12) main event of the blue brand featured Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Lana, Naomi and Asuka versus Sonya Deville, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Mandy Rose and Carmella.

The majority of the match featured the heels dominating the action.

Then back to back hot tags from Flair and Asuka completely changed the complexion of the match.

Flair laid everyone out with a combination of clotheslines and spears. Asuka was tagged in next and soon the match broke down into a hurricane of bodies flying everywhere.

Distracted momentarily by Rose, Asuka ate a super kick from Carmella but the pin was broken up by none other than Lana. Eventually with everyone else sucking wind, Asuka and her Money in the Bank opponent Carmella were the only ones left in the ring.

Without missing a beat Asuka blocked Mella’s next kick attempt, foiled her quick roll-up try and locked her in an Asuka Lock for a fast tap out.

Last night on Raw, title challenger Ronda Rousey made champ Nia Jax tap and tonight Asuka did the same to the SmackDown women’s champion Carmella.

This Sunday, will the WWE crown two new women’s champions? One? Zero?
