Whether you’re a fan of 70 and 80s National Wrestling Alliance and Jim Crockett Promotions, 90s WCW or 21st century NXT and WWE, or all of the above, you’re a fan of Dusty Rhodes. And as fans, the ways the man affectionally known as Dream touched us pales in comparison to how he shaped wrestlers and promoters careers - and certainly his children’s lives.
So as the wrestling world reflects on the man we lost three years ago today (June 11), here are a collection of remembrances from those who grew up and worked with him:
Been an especially hard year for me. 3 yrs. ago we lost our dad. Every damn day, I wish I could see you, or pick up the phone and call you. God , I miss you dad. You are the strongest, greatest man I ever knew. I love you pops. #DreamingInHeaven #HardTimes #RhodesFamily pic.twitter.com/MHPahL9iTJ

I miss his big hand in mine and his big laugh and watching baseball with him and a million little quiet things shared between a father and daughter. pic.twitter.com/hSuhIEJsNC

My favorite candid pictures of the dream I took.

Moments earlier he was gushing about his kids, grandkids and of course what a super genius he was.

Thinking about Dream today. He influenced me waaaay before I came to know him. Every “street fight” I ever did, I did in “Bunkhouse” gear. That was because of Dusty Rhodes. I miss you, Dream. pic.twitter.com/TcUfP3EVTk

Most of us never met you, Dusty, but we miss you all the same.
