Corey Graves explains his Twitter meltdown on CM Punk

Late last night, shortly after CM Punk lost his latest fight against Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in Chicago, WWE color commentator Corey Graves took to Twitter with a bizarre series of tweets. He went after Punk for bailing on his friends, then went after anyone who disagreed with his doing so, and even tagged his bosses in tweets saying it’s not professional, it’s personal.

Obviously, there was a lot behind this and the folks at Fightful got to the bottom of it, asking Graves himself what was going on. As it turns out, Graves tried to link up with Punk for a dinner years ago and he was blown off.

“It kinda shocked me when I texted him about grabbing dinner because we were in Chicago and he told me he no longer had any interest in being friends with me or anybody related to WWE. ... What really set me off was this week when he essentially disowned the business that made him. My only issue with him was that he turned off people that actually loved and supported him. Beyond ‘the business’ and he never wanted anything to do with us...yet continued to present himself as this ‘Punk’ hero.”

There’s more, so go read the full post at Fightful.

Essentially, Graves is still incredibly hurt that Punk bailed on him because he works for WWE and he lashed out after watching Punk lose to Jackson. He kept going long into the night, even while his followers were pleading with him to log off.

In response to someone saying “Punk would rip you apart”:
