Full spoilers from NXT’s May 9, 2018 tapings at Full Sail

The main roster’s Superstars aren’t the only ones going on a European trip between now and their next pay-per-view (PPV). And to help account for the fact they’ll be overseas in June, NXT is filming on back-to-back nights at their home base of Full Sail Live this week.

The shows will provide matches and segments for the regular Wednesday night series on WWE Network. And when they’re done, we should know much of what he card will look like for June 16’s TakeOver: Chicago 2.

We’ll be right here with you as results start rolling in from night one in Winter Park, Florida, updating live, starting at the scheduled 6:30PM Eastern bell time:

  • Lio Rush over Marcel Barthel to become #1 contender to the NXT North American Championship.
  • Tommaso Ciampa comes out (to Johnny Gargano’s music) and cuts a promo about how Gargano won the battle but he’ll always win the war, and Johnny’s watching at home in a neck brace.
  • This brings Candice LeRae out, who expresses her dismay at what Ciampa has become and tells him he’s the only one that’s broken. She’ll never forgive him and he’ll always have to know that Johnny’s better. Ciampa says Gargano isn’t half the man he is, Candice slaps him, and that closes the segment out.
  • Lacey Evans over Brandi Lauren, who you may recall as Ava Storie on Impact Wrestling.
  • Post-match, Kairi Sane attacks Lacey.
  • Ricochet vs. Velveteen Dream goes to a no contest when Lars Sullivan shows up and beats both guys down.
  • Kona Reeves over Raul Mendoza.
  • Danny Burch, Oney Lorcan, & Pete Dunne over Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, & Roderick Strong), with freshly-exclusive Burch picking the pin up on KOR.
  • A handicap match between Lars Sullivan on one hand and Ricochet and Velveteen Dream on the other is announced for later as a result of the earlier match.
  • TM61 (Nick Miller & Shane Thorne) over Heavy Machinery (Otis Dozovic & Tucker Knight) dirty with feet on the ropes.
  • Lacey Evans over Kairi Sane.
  • Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae get a promo segment. Johnny’s in a neck brace and teases that he might retire but yanks it off and calls Tommaso Ciampa back out to finish things between them. Ciampa comes out ready to oblige but the brawl is broken up by referees after the Sicilian Psychopath knocks Johnny Wrestling off the apron and into his wife, who then is tended to by medics.
  • Vanessa Borne over Steffanie “Nixon Newell” Newell.
  • Lars Sullivan over Ricochet & Velveteen Dream when VD abandons Ricochet mid-match. (Handicap Match)
  • Kassius Ohno over Chad “Gunner” Lail.
  • War Raiders (Hanson & Ray Rowe) over some enhancement talent.
  • EC3 over Fabian Aichner.
  • During that match, Johnny Gargano made his way to the commentary boot to announce that he has a contract for a street fight between himself and Ciampa at TakeOver: Chicago.
  • Kairi Sane over Lacey Evans.
  • Aleister Black comes down to cut a promo but is interrupted by Lars Sullivan, who officially challenges him to an NXT Championship match at TakeOver: Chicago. Lars beats him down after.
  • Shayna Baszler (c) over Dakota Kai to retain the NXT Women’s Championship in your main event for the evening.
  • Post-match, Nikki Cross attacks Shayna! She then grabs the title belt and issues an official challenge!
