WWE Backlash 2018 results: Nia Jax beats Alexa Bliss again

@WWE

WWE took on body shaming in its story with Nia Jax embracing her differences after her former best friend, Alexa Bliss, outed herself as a bully. They paid that story off by having Jax defeat Bliss to win the Raw women’s championship at WrestleMania 34 last month in New Orleans.

Bliss was entitled to a rematch, of course, and she got it tonight (Sun., May 6, 2018) at Backlash at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The story of the match was Bliss having to work around Nia’s power advantage but managing to do so and then getting vicious with her offense. She was slapping Jax across the face and screaming “bullies never win.”

Alexa’s best option, the best option for any smaller person in a fight against someone who is so much bigger, was to try to work submissions. That’s what she did, though she hardly stood much of a chance. Jax just threw her around and knocked her down. When Bliss finally got her down for an extended count, it was outside the ring and she couldn’t get her back up and into the ring for the fall.

It didn’t matter.

Alexa threw everything she could at the champion and it just didn’t matter. The finish saw Jax catch the challenger when she attempted Twisted Bliss and hit the Samoan Drop for the pinfall and the victory.

Bliss was right, in this case. The bully didn’t win.
