WWE Backlash 2018 results: Strowman and Lashley win, late in the night, on a lackluster show

All of the early encounters between Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn and Bobby Lashley and Greatest Royal Rumble winner Braun Strowman have been fairly one-sided. It was unclear why we should think the two-on-two tag at Backlash on May 6 would be any different, but it was served up as the penultimate match in what’s been a pretty lackluster, filler show from Newark, anyway.

Zayn started things out by avoiding Lashley, claiming vertigo symptoms from his first encounter with the former Impact World Champ. The returning Superstar quickly plowed though Sami and his friend KO. Zayn eventually got his team in control by getting Bobby to chase him and then attacking on the outside, but Owens wasn’t able to keep Strowman from getting a tag.

That led to another spot which has been a feature of all their past matches - Braun running over KO on the outside.

That wasn’t the reason for their demise, however. It was the continued inability of The Sami and Kevin Show to stay on the same page. Zayn wanted to walk out, but KO wnated to stay and fight. Eventually, both partners tried to throw the other to the wolves, and Sami even slapped Kev.

In the confusion, Owens ended up taking finishers from Braun and Bobby - both before and after the pinfall was recorded. Strowman caught up with Zayn, too, and, yeah...

Backlash hasn’t been a great show, y’all.
