When Roman Reigns showed up on Monday Night Raw this week, he was heavily booed by the fans in London. Maybe he deserves it, maybe he doesn’t. We won’t worry about that for now because, for once, WWE found the right way to use him. It started with the above promo, where he dropped this absolutely BALLER line:
“Jinder, if you want to be more relevant than you’ve ever been in your entire career then come out here to my yard and face me like a man.”
Hot damn.
He said this with such a cocksure attitude, and put just the right bass in his voice before dropping the mic, that I forgot why anyone would boo this man. Of course, it’s because WWE so rarely allows him to be this, a cold badass who damn sure ain’t taking no shit from Jinder Mahal. Because this is WWE, they followed it up with some authority figure silliness but they even played that right, simply having Reigns tell General Manager Kurt Angle he understood his position but he was going to do what he was going to do anyway.
This is what he was going to do:
That’s the ticket. A pretty damn good backstage brawl, a pretty damn good spear through a wall, and, really, just a top guy beating up someone everyone hates.
More of this, please.
