WWE is wisely not even trying to play it coy when it come to why they signed Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke - it’s to someday have a team feud with “The Four Horsewomen of NXT”. In their first interview from The Performance Center, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler’s friends and training partners in “The Four Horsewomen of MMA” make it pretty clear while talking to Cathy Kelley:
Kelley: What can we expect from that [the confrontations with Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Becky Lynch at the 2017 Mae Young Classic]?
Shafir: All the training is gonna lead up to something - I hope.
Duke: I think you mean the ‘faux’ horsewomen? Not the Four Horsewomen, cause that’s us. So if they want to keep pushing that, that’s fine. But like she said - that training, now that we’re here, I think it’s all gonna end up somewhere.
And if that’s not enough for you...
So there you have it.
Also, Marina and Roderick Strong’s son is a star. This Horsewomen stuff sounds great, but Troy vs. Lord Wolfgang is where the money’s at.
