The main roster’s Superstars aren’t the only ones going on a European trip between now and their next pay-per-view (PPV). And to help account for the fact they’ll be overseas in June, NXT is filming on back-to-back nights at their home base of Full Sail Live this week.
The shows will provide matches and segments for the regular Wednesday night series on WWE Network. And when they’re done, we should know much of what he card will look like for June 16’s TakeOver: Chicago 2. You can get the results from the first night of taping on May 9 here.
And we’ll be right back here with you tonight as results start rolling in from night one in Winter Park, Florida, updating live, starting at the scheduled 6:30PM Eastern bell time:
- Kona Reeves over Raul Mendoza.
- Adam Cole (c) over Lio Rush to retain the NXT North American Championship.
- Shayna Baszler comes down to say she can beat anyone on the roster, Nikki Cross comes out and they have a brawl.
- TM61 (Nick Miller & Shane Thorne) over some enhancement talent. Post-match they cut a promo saying every team in NXT should kneel before The Mighty.
- Roderick Strong over Danny Burch in a match in which all of both men’s allies got involved.
- Dakota Kai, Kacy Catanzaro, & Steffanie “Nixon Newell” Newell over Reina Gonzalez, Taynara Conti, & Vanessa Borne.
- Tommaso Ciampa comes out to cut a promo and the segment ends in a big brawl between him and Johnny Gargano in which Ciampa ends up busted open.
- Medics tend to the Sicilian Psychopath and clean him up... AND JOHNNY COMES BACK AND LOCKS THE GARGANO ESCAPE ON HIM!
- Jack Gallagher over Drew Gulak to qualify for the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament.
- War Raiders (Hanson & Ray Rowe) over some enhancement talent. After the match, they call the Mighty out.
- EC3 over Kassius Ohno.
- Heavy Machinery (Otis Dozovic & Tucker Knight) & Yanbo Wang over Forgotten Sons (Chad “Gunner” Lail, Steve Cutler, & Wesley Blake).
- Ricochet over Donovan Dijak.
- Velveteen Dream comes out after and he and Ricochet have another promo battle that culminates in Ricochet doing a flip over the top rope when VD drops the “anything you can do, I can do better” line.
- Bianca BelAir over Aliyah with a new finisher, which is a Psycho Driver ala Super Dragon, of all things!
- Aleister Black comes out to tell Lars Sullivan that he thinks he has his number because of the attack last taping, but he’ll fade to black at TakeOver: Chicago all the same, and Lars comes down and lays him out again.
- Pete Dunne (c) over Kyle O’Reilly to retain the WWE United Kingdom Championship in your main event for the evening. After the match another brawl erupted between both sets of allies in which Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch ran Undisputed Era off.
There you have it, folks
The last of our build to TakeOver: Chicago. Like what you read, Cagesiders?
