Undertaker’s entrance was more than twice as long as his actual match at WrestleMania 34

WWE.com

The Undertaker made his long-awaited return to WWE at WrestleMania 34 to finally accept John Cena’s challenge.

After four weeks of John Cena hyping up how incredible this match could be if only Undertaker would show up to take the fight, what we ended up getting was a squash match that didn’t even last three minutes.

Fans didn’t really get much substance in the ring from the Phenom, but what they did get prior to the match was was a ridiculously long Undertaker entrance that lasted roughly 6 minutes and 59 seconds.

Here are the approximate time stamps for the key parts of the Dead Man’s entrance.

  • 0m 00s: Lights go out while Cena is frozen on the ramp
  • 1m 12s: First gong sound
  • 1m 55s: Undertaker appears
  • 4m 47s: Undertaker turns the lights on from the ring steps
  • 6m 59s: His music stops playing, after Undertaker is finished removing his clothes

It doesn’t matter if you begin counting his entrance time when the lights go out, or when he first appears, or if you stop the clock when the lights turn on, Undertaker’s entrance is still longer than his actual match with John Cena. I wonder if John Cena was screaming out “Do Something!” while the Dead Man took forever to get to the ring.

WWE spent a whole bunch of time on Raw over the last month teasing this potential match, including some underwhelming matches involving Goldust and Kane, all for a seven minute entrance and a three minute match.
