Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon reportedly got into a heated exchange backstage after WrestleMania 34

Brock-McMahon

Considering the entire build to Brock Lesnar shockingly retaining the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans on Sun., April 8 was a worked shoot adds a whole ‘nother layer to this, but here’s what we’ve got...

Overnight, rumors started to appear online that some kind of argument occurred when Lesnar got behind the curtain after pinning Roman Reigns in the main event. The initial reports - such as this one from the WrestleVotes Twitter account - didn’t specify who Brock beefed with, just that a verbal fight took place.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has followed up and is reporting their sources tell them Lesnar was the one who was upset. They don’t have concrete information on what the champ was angry about, but he is said to have gone off on WWE Chairman and C.E.O. Vince McMahon, who wasn’t having it and responded in kind. It was supposedly a quick argument, but one which got hot enough it ended with Brock throwing his Universal title belt. Sheet’s sources differed on whether Lesnar’s target was McMahon or the wall, but everyone agreed Vince and his rumored-to-be departing star were angry.

As to why, Ryan Satin wrote:

“We’re told there’s a belief that Brock may have gone off script a little bit near the end of the match, but we’ve been unable to confirm if this is true.”

A possible point of contention could be the elbow that bloodied Reigns, but that’s just speculation. And a guess that’s admittedly based on a similar argument between Brock and Chris Jericho after SummerSlam 2016 when Randy Orton was busted open during his match with Lesnar.

Could that all be leaks to fuel the story of a loose canon Champion who doesn’t respect the business and might hold WWE hostage? Sure could. But all we can go on so far are these reports, and wait to see how things play out on Raw in NOLA tonight.
