WrestleMania 34 results: Woken Matt Hardy wins Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

WWE opened its WrestleMania 34 Kickoff show tonight (Sun., April 8, 2018) from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana with the fifth annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. No one got an entrance, instead choosing to load the ring with every wrestler in the match all at once and ring the bell.

The first elimination: Aiden English.

Sorry, Rusev Day.

R-Truth, who returned in this match from a lengthy hiatus to heal up some nagging injuries, was one of the first few wrestlers tossed out. It was his old friend Goldust who threw him over the top rope.

He dabbed just after too.

Later in the match, John Cena was shown sitting ringside. They showed us this while Sin Cara was being tossed by Baron Corbin. There’s a clear pecking order here. Really, they were missing eliminations left and right.

The final four was Kane, Baron Corbin, Mojo Rawley, and Woken Matt Hardy. Kane had just tossed Dolph Ziggler when Corbin came up behind him and used the momentum to send him out.

That left two former winners and a 4,000 year old man.

Rawley and Corbin teamed up to start tossing Hardy out and suddenly the lights went out and Bray Wyatt returned. He tossed Rawley into Woken Matt, who threw him out. Corbin stopped his momentum but Hardy sent him out.

The bell then rang.

Woken Matt Hardy is your winner.
