Dana White says Brock Lesnar is coming back to UFC

The writing on the wall can’t get much larger at this point.

Vince McMahon made it a focus of the WrestleMania main event storyline. His manager, Paul Heyman, all but confirmed it. And now Dana White, the President of the company it looks like Brock Lesnar is headed back to, has come right out and said it - Brock Lesnar is returning to UFC after his contract with WWE ends.

White is careful to not specify a timeframe. And thanks to positive tests for banned substances around his last UFC fight against Mark Hunt in 2016, we know that even after whatever exact date Lesnar’s WWE deal expires in the days, weeks or months after Sunday, April 8, he’ll still have time and drug tests to pass before he’s reinstated by the USADA and the various state commissions which oversee professional mixed martial arts.

But on the April 4 edition of UFC Tonight, Dana answered a question about Brock from Daniel Cormier by flat out stating:

“Yeah, Brock Lesnar’s coming back. I don’t know when, but yes he is.“

Really ramps up the suspense for New Orleans, huh?

On the one hand, wrestling fan anger against Lesnar could rally support behind his opponent, Roman Reigns. On the other, Reigns is so divisive a figure, news of Brock definitely leaving could lead to a repeat of his WrestleMania XX farewell match where Madison Square Garden booed him and his opponent, the also-departing Goldberg.

Hopefully, The Beast Incarnate and The Big Dog bring their ‘A’ game (as they did at WrestleMania 31 in their last one-on-one encounter) on Sunday.

And while you’re thinking on that, let us know who you think Lesnar will fight when he does eventually step back into the Octagon.
