WWE SmackDown Live ratings (April 3, 2018): Another drop on the road to WrestleMania

WWE.com

Another step closer to WrestleMania, another... 109,000 less viewers for WWE on a Tuesday night?

Yep, SmackDown drew 2,467,000 viewers on April 3 for a ‘go home’ episode which promised the return of Shane McMahon and a tag match where the men who will fight for the WWE Title on Sunday would partner up. Not the trend anyone wants to see heading into the biggest event of the year, especially when the reason many pointed to to explain last week’s numbers - network television’s new/old big draw, ABC’s Roseanne - remained a huge success with an audience of 15.4 million at 8PM Eastern, but was down 3 million viewers from the Mar. 27 premiere and doesn’t really help explain another drop for WWE.

The blue brand did again have the fourth biggest audience among cable originals on Tuesday night, behind Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, Sean Hannity on Fox News, and HGTV’s Fixer Upper. Its demographic share among 18 - 49 year olds was relatively flat at .79.

Next week should tick up, as live ‘Mania fallout shows are among WWE’s most popular episodes every year. Give us your guesses on those numbers - whether or not you use this rundown of SmackDown’s numbers over the past six months (including overall 18 - 49 year old ratings for 2018 episodes) for reference:
