It’s ‘likely’ Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are gone after WrestleMania 34

WWE.com

We’ve known for some time now that Brock Lesnar’s contract with WWE comes up after WrestleMania 34 this Sun., April 8, 2018, in New Orleans. Paul Heyman’s deal will also be up. There’s been plenty of talk he’ll leave to go back to the UFC, though we’ve heard that before.

The New York Post asked Heyman if the coming Sunday night will be the last time he walks “The Beast” to the ring for a match in WWE and he responded as such:

“It’s most likely the answer to that is yes. The reasons are rather public. Brock is eyeballing a return to the octagon. He’s made no secret about it. He’s out in Las Vegas at the UFC offices taking a selfie with Dana White wearing a UFC T-shirt. These are not secret negotiations.

“The fact that both our contracts are coming due is not a secret, either. Is this the last time that Brock Lesnar goes out to the ring in WWE, I truly don’t know that answer because what we’re focused on at the moment is … Brock is very laser focused on the task at hand.”

There are issues with Lesnar going back to UFC — namely that he has six months left on a USADA suspension — but they’ve actively acknowledged they want him back and that promotion could use another big star. WWE, meanwhile, might be better off taking an extended break from Brock, especially with ushering in Reigns as the new Universal champion and face of the company.

We’ll know more at this time next week.

Tick tock.
