John Cena on Nikki Bella break-up: ‘It’s a tough time but that’s life’

Love is a battlefield and John Cena is a wounded man. Less than two weeks after worlds of reality TV romance and pro wrestling were shaken to their very core, Cena is trying to hold it all together on the red carpet.

Promoting his upcoming movie project “Bumblebee” at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Cena said he was emotionally devastated about his recent split with Nikki Bella. Cena even claimed his heart still hurts to this very day.

Speaking with TMZ on the red carpet, Cena the right words but maybe the delivery could have been a tad bit more sincere.

“It’s a tough time but that’s life. We all go through highs and we all go through lows. I’m gonna get through it. I love her. I’ll always love her. The fact that my heart hurts for her ... I know I was in love. So, I’ll always have that.”

Three years worth of a publicity televised relationship, a proposal at WrestleMania 33, but hey that’s life. Next up for John Cena is a match versus Triple H at tomorrow’s Greatest Royal Rumble event.

Maybe John Cena will never turn heel, but it will be interesting to watch if the WWE weaves any of his breakup with Bella into future in-ring story lines.
