Suddenly Asuka can’t buy a victory. Tonight (Apr. 24) on SmackDown Asuka competed in her first match since her streak was broken by Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34.
Paired with Becky Lynch and matched versus recent NXT call-ups Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, on paper Asuka’s squad should have won in a route. Lynch is a former SmackDown women’s champion while Asuka was unbeatable in NXT and on the main roster prior to three weeks ago.
First Kay and Royce, The IIconics, got a great promo in prior to the match and then the duo out worked and outsmarted their opponents in the ring.
Are #TheIIconics BETTER than @WWEAsuka?!?

With Asuka distracted, Royce would pin Lynch with a a schoolboy rollup with her foot on the ropes.

The streak continues and Asuka has now lost back to back matches on WWE television. How far will WWE let Asuka fall before they build her back up?
