WWE recently announced Ronda Rousey for a few dates on their upcoming tour of Europe, now we’ve gotten our first indication of what Rousey will be doing on those four shows.
A peak at the card for the Sat, May 19 event in Paris - the last show for which Ronda was announced - has her working a match with Mickie James. The veteran James is a heel who’s allied with former Raw Women’s Champ Alexa Bliss, so she makes sense from a kayfabe perspective, especially in the continuity-light world of house shows.
More than that, former Champ and likely future Hall of Famer Mickie continues the trend in how WWE is rolling their newest marquee talent out... by having her work with seasoned hands like Triple H, Kurt Angle and Stephanie McMahon.
It could also be seen as a sign some Bliss/James vs. Rousey/Natalya matches are in our future. At least until Natty turns on Rowdy to give her another experienced opponent the company trusts.
Here are some other matches currently set for the Paris show, courtesy of PWInsider:
- Samoa Joe vs. Roman Reigns
- Baron Corbin vs. Braun Strowman
- Seth Rollins vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Finn Balor vs. Bobby Roode for the Intercontinental Title
- Elias vs. Bobby Lashley
- Ronda Rousey vs. Mickie James
- Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt vs. Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens
