As he told Kfm Mornings 94.5:
“Ambrose is injured, yes. I don’t know the whereabouts or the details of his injury but he had some pretty extensive triceps surgery earlier this year. He’s definitely still on the mend and rehabbing but he’ll be back and better than ever, you wait. Summer time, maybe late spring, somewhere in there I think, whenever wily guy gets back to normal.”
Ambrose has been on the shelf dating back to December of last year with a triceps injury that would typically require roughly nine months of rehabilitation. If he can make it back by late spring that would be well ahead of schedule.
As for The Shield reuniting once he does return, Rollins said it’s likely they’ll simply keep doing their own thing. It’s possible — and maybe even likely — that by next Friday Rollins will be Intercontinental champion and Roman Reigns will be Universal champion on Monday Night Raw.
It’s too bad Ambrose isn’t around to share in the riches, even if it was off on SmackDown battling for one of its titles.
Either way, let’s hope Rollins is right and Ambrose is back sooner rather than later.
