Chris Jericho explains why he was removed from match with Undertaker

WWE.com

New Japan’s Chris Jericho has had himself a year. Jericho began the year by tearing down the house with Kenny Omega at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 12 card and has manage to make headlines throughout the year, despite a lighter than normal in-ring schedule.

Last week, Jericho found himself of the middle of some odd politicking between the WWE, Rusev, The Undertaker and an announced casket match at the Greatest Royal Rumble. After Rusev was announced as the first opponent, the Bulgarian Brute was removed following an interview with TMZ and replaced by Jericho.

Days later Jericho was out and Rusev was back in the match with Taker.

Appearing on the latest episode of the In This Corner Podcast, Jericho was asked about what his role will be at the WWE’s upcoming Greatest Royal Rumble event. Only eight days away from Apr. 27 show, even Jericho was a little unsure what is going to happen.

“It’s funny when you say drink it man because that’s the one country in the world where you can’t. By penalty of death. For me at this point I mean, whether they want me to be part of the Royal Rumble or work against The Undertaker or work against Funaki in a lingerie match, whatever needs to be done I’m happy to do it. That’s the good thing about kind of my legacy and where I am at this point of my career. I can come and do whatever needs to be done, opening match or main event, whatever it is, it’s going to be good. So things change, which is part of the world of WWE, happens all the time.”

Jericho continued

“For me, until I actually walk to the ring, sometimes you never know what is going to happen. Things get changed during the show sometimes. I think sometimes fans get a little bit too excited about certain things that happened and didn’t happen.”

So Chris Jericho was in a high profile casket match with The Undertaker, then he wasn’t.

After the Greatest Royal Rumble event, where will Y2J appear next in the world of pro wrestling?
