WWE waited until after Monday Night Raw was off the air to release the above video but in it, Chad Gable reveals he’s moving to the red brand sans Shelton Benjamin to start his run as a singles wrestler. Here’s the promo he cut to kick it off:
“My thoughts are Shelton was great. Teaming with him was great. Teaming with Jason was great. But it’s time. It’s been time for a while. Chad Gable is more than a tag team wrestler. I wrestled for 20 years on my own. Do you think I had a tag team partner in the Olympics? Do ya? No. I did that on my own. I’ve shown people what I can do as a singles wrestler. I’ve wrestled guys like Rusev, I’ve wrestled AJ Styles; I pushed these guys to the brink already. Now you’re telling me I get to focus exclusively on singles competition? That’s bad news for anyone on Raw because a focused Chad Gable is a very dangerous Chad Gable. I’ve given everyone a taste but I’m here, I’m on Raw, and I’m alone, just the way I wanted. And they’re going to get more than a taste.”
Gable has all the potential in the world. Will his size work against him on WWE’s flagship show, with Vince McMahon’s eyes on everything he does? We’ll have to wait and see. Let’s hope not.
He’s one hell of a talent.
