If Asuka moves to SmackDown, she’s already got a feud with Carmella brewing

After a long run as an unbeaten force in the women’s division in both NXT and Monday Night Raw, Asuka finally lost at WrestleMania 34 when she challenged then SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. I say “then” because Charlotte lost the title two nights later when Carmella successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank contract.

For her part, Asuka disappeared from television following her defeat. That was just one week, though, and the Superstar Shakeup starts this coming week.

That could mean she’s in for a permanent move to the blue brand. If so, she’s already got a feud with the new champion brewing up on social media:

If WWE wants to set up Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte for WrestleMania 35 — quite possibly as the main event of that show — Flair is going to need to move over to Monday Night Raw. Asuka could use a fresh start on SmackDown and Carmella doesn’t currently have a ready made challenger for her title. If nothing else, this helps start on the road to creating a compelling future feud between the two.
