Rusev out, Chris Jericho in vs. The Undertaker at Greatest Royal Rumble

Well that was quick. Maybe there was something to the Michelle McCool-Rusev-Lana beef from earlier today (Apr. 12). Only one day after the WWE announced a casket match between The Undertaker and Rusev, the promotion has already changed their plans.

Instead of Rusev, a returning Chris Jericho will compete versus The Undertaker at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia.

WWE.com was the first to break the news

“In a stunning turn of events, The Undertaker will battle Chris Jericho in a Casket Match at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia on Friday, April 27.

Originally, the Casket Match was to be between The Deadman and Rusev.”

A WWE Network special, the Greatest Royal Rumble will go down on Friday April 27 live from Saudi Arabia.

To her credit, before WWE broke the news Lana was already on social media lobbying for a change to the match.

Did she want the match stipulation to be changed? Or did Lana want her husband Rusev removed from the match with The Undertaker all together?

Odd timing from the WWE. When the match was announced, Rusev almost immediately took to social media to hype up the opportunity to face The Undertaker in a very Rusev way.

Sorry Rusev Day fans, April 27 may not be your day.
