The post-WrestleMania Brock/Vince/Shane stories invite a game of ‘Work or Shoot?’

The talk’s died down since this story broke, but it seems to have inspired an unresolved round of one of our favorite pro wrestling games “Work or shoot?” so we wanted to kick it around with you, Cagesiders.

Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar reportedly got into a heated argument after WrestleMania 34. This was allegedly because Vince was angry due to Brock busting open Roman Reigns during the match, Lesnar’s unplanned use the German announce team’s table in a spot, or both.

Another theory, based in part on the initial report insinuating Brock initiated the argument, is that the Universal Champion wasn’t thrilled the crowd was chanting “This is awful” during his match - especially after months worth of booking was dedicated to trying to get fans to root for his opponent.

Further complicating things is a follow-up note which claimed Shane McMahon was involved in the argument, with unnamed bystanders claiming Vince’s son looked like he wanted fight Lesnar. Which bring us to the two prominent “it’s a work” theories:

  1. WWE is again planting the seeds for the possible Shane vs. Brock match that was set-up at SummerSlam 2016 after The Beast Incarnate bloodied Randy Orton, and/or...
  2. Everyone knew Reigns was going to “get color” in the ‘Mania main event, but WWE wanted to cover themselves against rumors they’d gone against their own blading policy and got the argument story out there for plausible deniability.

So what do you think? Work? Shoot? Shoot that will be turned into a work (brother)?
