In addition to the somewhat surprising news from yesterday (Mar. 8) that WWE decided to part ways with Mae Young Classic (MYC) competitor Abbey Laith, multiple sources have confirmed the releases of two other wrestlers from the company’s developmental program.
The departure of Sage Beckett, a Dudley Boyz trainee who previously worked on the independents as Andrea and in TNA as Rosie Lottalove, was reported by Squared Circle Sirens and Pro Wrestling Sheet. Like Laith, Beckett competed in last summer’s WWE Network tournament series but despite working house shows with Lana for a while before the MYC, never made it to NXT television. Her release comes a little more than a year after her Jan. 2017 signing.
Gu Guangming, a signee from WWE’s first ever tryouts in China in 2016, was also let go, according to Wrestling Observer. The 6’8” amateuring boxing standout appeared on a few live events with Kona Reeves under the name “Ming”, but also never appeared on screen.
WWE doesn’t comment on releases from developmental, but Laith and Beckett have both posted to social media with statements that indicate they’re on to the next phases of their lives and careers:

I’ve given my body for 13 years, now it’s time to use my brain. #thankyou

Best wishes to all three, and we’ll keep you posted on any additional roster moves down at the Performance Center.
