Based on reports, Brock Lesnar’s contract with WWE is coming up shortly after WrestleMania 34, where he will defend the Universal championship in the main event against Roman Reigns. The expectation, as of now, is that he will lose before heading back to Dana White and the UFC.
When CNN-News18 asked Triple H about Lesnar’s status, he had very little to say:
“To be honest, I really don’t have anything to share in this conversation and we’ll see where it goes. Brock is Brock, he’s an interesting guy to be with, makes it challenging, which is always wonderful, and we’re working on it. We’ll see where that goes as time goes on.”
Well then!
Lesnar has seemingly had one foot out the door in the past, notably in 2015 when he did an entire training camp before deciding to sign a new three year deal with WWE. He was allowed to fight at UFC 200 the next year and has been flirting with going back to MMA ever since, including starting up a feud with Light Heavyweight star Jon Jones (who has since been suspended).
Brock has proven to be a smart businessman who will play both sides against the middle. That, then, explains Triple H’s comments. For now, we can look forward to Lesnar in the main event of the next WrestleMania.
After that?
Who knows.
