We still don’t know much of anything about the injury AJ Styles suffered that kept him off weekend house shows, including an angle at the big Madison Square Garden event this past Friday night. Considering WWE just announced today that SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan is cleared to return to wrestling, there’s been plenty of obvious speculation that perhaps he could step in for Styles against Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania 34 if need be.
It won’t be needed, though.
That’s according to Dave Meltzer, who is reporting Styles was examined and cleared for WrestleMania just yesterday. This comes not long after the man himself told reporters on a conference call not to worry about him missing the show (via CatchNewz):
“If my leg got cut off I’d find a way to make it to WrestleMania. So, I think just to answer that question, I will be wrestling Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania. Don’t worry about it, it’ll be fine.”
We’ll likely have a better idea of the situation come tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live, where Styles is scheduled for the show.
