WrestleMania 34 match card, rumors

The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the one and only WrestleMania 34 event set to take place on Sun., April 8, 2018, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, the company's annual "Showcase of the Immortals". It's the biggest pro wrestling event of the year.

We're now just three weeks out from showtime and here’s what is official for the card as of right now:

  • Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns (Universal championship)

This feud has been built around Lesnar simply not caring enough to even show up to work and Reigns getting increasingly pissed off about that, to the point he got himself suspended for confronting Vince McMahon over it.

  • AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (WWE championship)

Nakamura won the Royal Rumble and then Styles successfully navigated a Six-Pack Challenge at Fastlane to make this official. It’s something of a dream match, considering what they did at the Tokyo Dome a couple years ago.

  • Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle vs. Stephanie McMahon & Triple H

Rousey’s first ever pro wrestling match will be a mixed tag, so she won’t have to do all the heavy lifting.

  • Charlotte vs. Asuka (SmackDown women’s championship)

It took her a number of weeks to choose who she would challenge after winning the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match, but Asuka eventually settled on Charlotte.

  • The Miz vs. Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins (Intercontinental championship)

They all just sort of started fighting with each other — Miz and Balor notably did plenty of social media bickering leading up to this — and now they’ll wrestle for the title.

  • Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Final

Cedric Alexander punched his ticket last week. The winner of this week’s Mustafa Ali vs. Drew Gulak match will join him.

  • WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal

This was originally named the “Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal” but fan backlash led to sponsor backlash which led to WWE taking action. The match will feature wrestlers from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. You can reasonably expect that anyone who isn’t in a women’s match elsewhere on this card will be in this match.

  • Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn

This was announced on SmackDown this past week when Shane McMahon booked it as his last act as Commissioner of the show before taking an indefinite leave of absence. The two responded by putting him in the hospital a local medical facility. It seems likely this will not ultimately be the match we get involving these two, but for now it’s listed on the official WWE.com WrestleMania 34 page.

That’s everything that is official so far. John Cena vs. Undertaker is likely to be announced sooner rather than later. Braun Strowman also earned a shot at the Raw tag team titles held by Cesaro & Sheamus but they’re teasing out whether or not he’ll challenge for them himself or if he’ll have to find a partner, so the match hasn’t been announced as official just yet. Rumors have suggested Elias could be in line for that spot.

Meanwhile, Randy Orton vs. Bobby Roode vs. Jinder Mahal for the U.S. championship and The Usos vs. The Bludgeon Brothers vs. The New Day for the SmackDown tag team titles, and Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax for the Raw women’s championship are also rumored for the show. It’s also expected that they will do another Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
