Tonight, WWE.com announced that WrestleMania 35 will be held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey next year. It will take place on April 7, 2019. This had been the rumored location for some time.

They also announced that all of their other events during the weekend (Hall of Fame, NXT TakeOver, Raw, and SmackDown) will take place in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The Barclays Center will play host to SummerSlam this year and has the last three years.

Much like with New Orleans this year, WWE is repeating recent venues with this announcement. This was the location of WrestleMania 29, when John Cena won the WWE title from the Rock in the main event. The Raw that year was located at the Izod Center just next door to MetLife (it no longer exists) and the Hall of Fame was located at Madison Square Garden.

MetLife is an interesting choice to come back to so soon since it can be considered a cold weather stadium that does not have a roof. Hopefully, it’s not a cold April in New Jersey next year.

Who’s going to brave some bridge and tunnel traffic for the Show of Shows next year?
