In 2017, Tamina Snuka was working an angle with Lana that rumors suggested might be leading toward a match against Charlotte Flair.
That was dropped, and many would say mercifully, but it turns out the reason for the veteran’s fall from prominence probably wasn’t because the Creative team realized a lot of folks on the internet don’t think Tamina can wrestle.
Wrestling Inc reports that after Royal Rumble, Snuka underwent surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. They speculate she may have been dealing with the issue for a while - before a short stint in the Women’s Rumble match, she last worked on the Jan. 2 episode of SmackDown.
There’s no official word from WWE confirming the injury and operation, or offering a recovery timetable, but shoulder surgery typically leaves athletes facing months of rehab.
Join us in sending Tamina best wishes for a return to full health, and we’ll keep you posted with any updates.
