You might recall, in the months leading up to his divisive WWE title run on SmackDown, Jinder Mahal engaged in a feud with Mojo Rawley. That program prominently featured a pair of appearances by Rawley’s best bud, New England Patriots’ star tight end Rob Gronkowski. It netted Jinder a viral WrestleMania moment en route to Mojo winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in Orlando last Spring, but otherwise didn’t do much for him as The Maharajah character that emerged for his championship reign was essentially a soft reboot of his whole gimmick.
Still, Mahal didn’t forget about Gronk. And when the Pats were upset in Super Bowl XLII by the Philadelphia Eagles last night (Feb. 4), he celebrated the delayed payback on Twitter:

Spike that, still-two time Super Bowl champ.
