WWE SmackDown Live ratings (Feb. 27, 2018): John Cena brings the viewers

Here’s why even the kayfabe notion of a WrestleMania without John Cena is foolish. Everyone knows people want to see him.

The Free Agent took his quest for a spot on the card in New Orleans to SmackDown on Feb. 27, and WWE got their second best Tuesday night viewership numbers of the year. Things were trending up last week after a strong Raw, but even with the red brand’s numbers dipping on Feb. 26, Team Blue continued to rise, up 79K over seven days prior to 2,692,000.

That was sixth among cable originals on the night, behind History’s Curse of Oak Island, HGTV’s Fixer Upper, Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity on Fox News, and Rachel Maddow on MSNBC.

In terms of demographic share, it was SmackDown’s best number of 2018. A .86 among 18 - 49 year olds won the night.

Cena’s sticking around through at least next week’s Fastlane ‘go home’. While you wonder if he can help his sometimes-home beat their Jan. 2 audience peak, here’s a rundown of the past six months (including overall 18 - 49 year old ratings for 2018 episodes):
